Overview

Have you ever watched Armageddon and wondered if it really is easier to turn a drill expert into an astronaut than vice versa? Of course you have – and this event probably won’t answer that question, but it will uncover the threat from asteroids and suggest how to think about planetary defence – from early warning to deflection or using nuclear weapons.

Join author Robin George Andrews as he takes you on a mildly worrying journey to understand how humanity might avert Armageddon. He will be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the history and reality of weapons in space and how international partnerships are shaping the use of space today.

Dr Robin George Andrews, Science Journalist

Marissa Martin, Science and Emerging Technology Analyst, RAND.

Juliana Suess, Researcher, Stifung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP) and former RUSI staff member.
