Overview
The defence and security landscape is changing rapidly, and armed forces are adapting to meet new challenges. As a result, industry and government are increasingly collaborating to develop emerging capabilities, from autonomous UAVs and advanced payloads to a wide range of innovative defence technologies.
Successful innovation requires more than the creation of prototypes. Close partnership between industry and government is also essential to transition promising concepts into operationally deployable capabilities, and to establish the manufacturing capacity needed to ramp up production when demand arises.
This briefing will explore how industry and government can collaborate more effectively in developing autonomous systems for large-scale production and operational use.
Speaker’s Biography
Schuyler (Sky) Moore assumed her current role in September 2025. She previously served as the first Chief Technology Officer at US CENTCOM, driving technology strategy and projects in AI, autonomy, and counter-UAS.
She also led AI and unmanned systems integration as Chief Strategy Officer for Task Force 59 at NAVCENT. Earlier roles include serving as Director of Science and Technology on the staff of the Defence Innovation Board in the Office of the US Under Secretary of Defence for Research and Engineering.
