Air Chief Marshal Knighton will give an overview of the current strategic environment for the RAF, underscoring the specific threat posed by Russia and the implications of the shifting balance of power to the east due to China's growing economic and military strength.
In his speech, Air Chief Marshal Knighton will also discuss the need for the RAF to be ready to fly and fight different kinds of wars to the ones the West has fought over the last 25 years. He will set out the importance of deterrence and the critical role air and space power play in providing it.
