The RUSI Military Science's team is pleased to host General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan Armed Forces as part of RUSI's Profession of Arms Series.

Following the withdrawal from Afghanistan by the UK and its allies and the rise of global competition between great powers, the role of Pakistan in preserving regional peace and global stability has never been more important. Over the course of this presentation, General Mirza will explore the current military and security challenges facing the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

RUSI has been a cornerstone of knowledge-sharing and dialogue in defence since its establishment in 1831 by the Duke of Wellington. RUSI's Profession of Arms programme aims to uphold this legacy by fostering crucial conversations at the policymaking level, nurturing an environment ready for innovation. 

Joining Instructions

This in-person event will take place at RUSI, 61 Whitehall, London, SW1A 2ET. The Presentation and Q&A session will commence at 11:00 followed by refreshments between 12:00 and 13:00.
