Join this exclusive UK PONI event, in which we will welcome former nuclear submarine (SSN) captain and ‘Perisher’ teacher Ryan Ramsey for a discussion on his recent book, A View from Below (2023), followed by a drink’s reception.
The Royal Navy’s Perisher course for naval officers aspiring to take command of a submarine is known as one of the most intense military training schemes in the world. Former Perisher teacher and career submariner Ryan Ramsey will give his reflections on Perisher, the lessons of command and life on a nuclear submarine.
These reflections will provide insightful to those looking to take learnings from such a high-pressured environment, into their own management and team skills in their day-to-day life.
Dr Matthew Harries, Director for Proliferation and Nuclear Policy at RUSI, will chair the discussion, which will be followed by a drinks reception and networking opportunity for the UK PONI community.
