Marking 70 years since Australia and New Zealand joined the Five Eyes intelligence sharing partnership, the Director-General will provide unique frontline insights into a complex, challenging and changing security environment. 

Mr Burgess will argue that the threats facing Western democracies are unprecedented in their scale and sophistication, making international partnerships more crucial than ever.  

Held since 2001, the annual Gallipoli Memorial Lecture aims to illustrate how the contribution and sacrifices of Australian and New Zealand forces more than a century ago can inspire countries today to use their military instruments to best effectiveness.
