Overview
Sanctions have become a central instrument of the UK and EU’s response to geopolitical threats, most visibly in countering Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Yet the effectiveness of sanctions depends not only on the strength of individual measures, but on how closely allies coordinate their design, implementation and enforcement.
The Centre for Finance and Security is hosting a panel event to examine how UK–EU sanctions cooperation can evolve from coordination towards greater collective impact. Host, Kinga Redlowska (Head of CFS at RUSI Europe) will be joined by panellists to consider where cooperation is working well, where gaps remain, and how the UK and EU can better align their approaches to sanctions policy and enforcement.
