Overview
The idea of another world war no longer feels far-fetched. Influence, ignorance and ideology have been weaponised, and conflict is already unfolding across multiple areas, from Ukraine and the Middle East to intensifying US–China rivalry.
Drawing on frontline experience, history and geopolitical insight, Mr Ellwood will examine the global tensions, technological disruptions and leadership challenges that are reshaping the world today. He will discuss the need to rebuild our hard power, restore our soft power, strengthen alliances and create the off-ramps needed to step back from the brink.
About the Speaker
The Rt Hon Tobias Ellwood is a RUSI Distinguished Fellow, former British Army officer, senior parliamentarian and now writer and commentator on national security and foreign policy matters. His new book, Ten Steps to Prevent World War Three, was published by Bonnier in July 2026.
