Overview
In partnership with the Royal Navy and NATO’s Allied Maritime Command, RUSI is holding a major international conference at HMS President, celebrating NATO’s 75th anniversary and exploring the present and future challenges faced by the Alliance.
The conference examines the history, current priorities and future trajectory of NATO as a maritime alliance. Sessions include an exploration of current NATO planning and defence posture, a discussion of strategic challenges in NATO’s strategic seas, and the impact of new technology. The conference focuses on the role of the carrier strike and amphibious power project as key enablers for Alliance deterrence and defence. The conference closes with a review of the issues of recruitment, the development of strategic thinking and industrial capability in the future of warfighting advantage of British and Alliance sea power.
