Overview
Join the UK Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, Liz Kendall MP at RUSI, as she makes a landmark speech on the future of artificial intelligence, tech sovereignty and Britain’s place in the world.
She will address what Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney described as a 'rupture in the world order' and 'a system of intensifying great power rivalry, where the most powerful pursue their interests, using economic integration as coercion'.
Today, this economic integration is often shaped by technology. Semiconductors define foreign policy, drones and robotics have reshaped defence, and artificial intelligence is now the engine of economic power and hard power.
How each nation responds to this rupture will define their role in the world for a generation. The Secretary of State will set out the British government’s determination to lead at a critical moment.
The event will be moderated by Baroness Gustafsson CBE, Trustee, RUSI.
