On the second anniversary of the October 7 attacks, our expert panel will assess how the subsequent war in Gaza and Israel’s wider military operations in the region have challenged alliances and assumptions about the political, security and diplomatic balance of power in the region.
What is the current state of play between Israel, Hamas, and the wider Palestinian political spectrum? With the humanitarian situation in Gaza still dire and a clear endgame elusive, we ask whether a viable ‘day after’ plan is emerging and who is driving it.
The discussion will also examine the UK’s position on recognition of Palestinian statehood in the context of changing international sentiment and pressures. How are key regional states including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE recalibrating their strategies?
