Overview

The UK PONI Annual Conference brings together emerging and established specialists from across the nuclear sector, fostering diverse and informed dialogue on the most critical nuclear questions we face today. Participants have the opportunity to engage with fresh perspectives through panel discussions and debates with fellow nuclear professionals from academia, government, industry, think tanks and the military.

This year's conference will explore the current state and future trends of the nuclear field through panel presentations by early-career professionals on the following themes:

  • The Future of the UK Nuclear Enterprise
  • Allied Deterrence: Reassurance, Burden-Sharing and the Future of the Alliance
  • Nuclear in a Changing World: Emerging Technologies, Information and Stability
  • Contested Deterrence: Signalling, Doctrine and Escalation

Attendees will hear major addresses from leading voices in the nuclear sector, and engage with peers from across academia, government, industry and the military over lunch and an evening drinks reception. The conference will also feature a poster competition, showcasing innovative research projects from emerging experts in the field.

UK PONI is committed to building a diverse and inclusive community that reflects the full range of talent in the nuclear field and encourages applications from women and those from underrepresented groups.
