During his time as Chief Constable of Kent from 2004 to 2010, Michael Fuller steered the force through major national and international challenges. His leadership not only delivered operational results but helped change the culture of policing. Under his watch, Kent Police became one of the most improved forces in England and Wales and was widely recognised for its inclusive approach.
In this wide-ranging discussion, Mr Fuller will reflect on his career and discuss the importance of creating an inclusive environment that can improve morale and performance in the workplace. He will also share his insights on overcoming adversity, and his vision for the future.
About the Speaker
Michael Fuller QPM had a long and distinguished career in the UK police force spanning 34 years. He worked in a number of uniformed and detective roles, and held senior positions in the Metropolitan Police Service, where he reached the rank of Deputy Assistant Commissioner in the Serious Crime Directorate. From 2004 to 2010, he served as Chief Constable of Kent and became the UK’s first ever black Chief Constable. He was subsequently appointed Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of the Crown Prosecution Service.
