Overview

Ukraine’s experience has shown how cloud technologies can directly support national security and defence missions – from battlefield coordination and intelligence analysis to ensuring the continuity of critical digital public services. Other governments are now adapting these lessons, expanding their use of cloud infrastructure to enhance resilience and agility.

As both NATO and the European Union increase investment in defence and security, digital systems underpinned by cloud capabilities will play an increasingly central role. Yet discussions about integrating cloud technologies into national security architectures often remain high-level, with limited examination of practical implementation and operational lessons.

Against this backdrop, our panel will explore concrete use cases of cloud technology in national security and defence contexts. Speakers will discuss how adoption strategies can address complex challenges – ranging from data sovereignty and cyber resilience to interoperability and trusted supply chains – while supporting mission effectiveness.
