Overview
The US will vote on Tuesday 5 November 2024 to elect its next president, either giving the Democrats another four years with Kamala Harris or handing the keys to the White House to Republican challenger Donald Trump.
This discussion will reflect on a range of challenges that the next president will face, from tackling wars in Ukraine and Gaza and the threats posed by Russia and a more assertive China, to developing critical partnerships with allies in Europe and key institutions, including the EU and NATO.
