Overview
Greenland has become the latest flashpoint in transatlantic relations, with President Donald Trump’s tariff threats challenging European unity, prompting a diplomatic backlash and drawing NATO directly into the dispute.
In a joint statement on 18 January, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK expressed full support for Denmark and Greenland. The statement also rejected claims that NATO’s military exercise Arctic Endurance posed a threat, while cautioning that tariff coercion undermines trust among allies.
In this webinar, the panellists examine:
- The impact on the transatlantic relationship.
- Implications for NATO.
