Overview
European land forces have embarked upon the regeneration of combat power to ensure NATO's continued deterrence against Russian aggression. Land forces, able to deny the enemy the opportunity to take and hold alliance territory, are foundational to deterrence. But Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine and the conflict spanning the Middle East also reveal that the tactics and echelons of warfare need to adapt to meet the challenge posed by emerging adversary capabilities.
This year's RUSI Land Warfare Conference – convened in partnership with the Chief of the General Staff – will provide a forum to discuss the land forces’ contribution to NATO's deterrence posture, the process of modernisation underway across the continent, and the resilience of the defence industrial base.
RUSI's Land Warfare Conference is the UK's foremost gathering of the land forces’ community. For twenty-five years, the Institute has brought together leading voices on the evolution of land warfare.
In partnership with the British Army, the conference hosts over 600 officials, officers, academics and industrialists from more than 40 countries. With US capacity shifting to other theatres and a mobilised adversary industrial base, this year’s conference will take place at a pivotal time for the continent's security.
