Overview

This two-day conference brings together senior land and ground forces leaders, policymakers and experts from the industry and think tanks to discuss and debate the dangerous security challenges that are currently facing the UK and its allies.

The international security environment continues to deteriorate. Along with Russia’s continued aggression against Ukraine, the Russian military has expanded, improved many of its capabilities and extended its strategic partnerships with Iran and North Korea. The deterioration of European security has driven a rapid increase in defence spending across the continent, with an imperative to regenerate combat power.

At the same time, Ukraine and Israel have demonstrated that new tools and concepts allow land forces to extend their range and precision. Modernisation must leverage emerging technologies in both the military and commercial sectors to unlock advantages on a battlefield where there are few places to hide.

Land Warfare Conference 2025 will explore how the land forces can increase their combat power by leverage new methods and capabilities to increase their lethality, enhance their survivability and regain manoeuvrability. The conference will focus on emerging tactical and operational challenges to identify the risks and opportunities confronting land forces. It will also seek to better understand how land forces can leverage the West’s market power to accelerate transformation.
