Overview
Modern conflict is not only accelerating the development of new military technologies but also challenging defence organisations’ ability to rapidly integrate these capabilities into real-world operations. As forces adopt tools such as AI-enabled decision systems, autonomous platforms and advanced sensor networks, the emphasis is shifting from innovation alone to the practical implementation of technical and operational concepts. Bridging the gap between emerging technology and battlefield utility requires coordinated effort across doctrine, policy, and procurement – raising complex questions that demand collective insight.
The RUSI Military Technology Conference 2025 provides a vital platform for rigorous, cross-sector dialogue on operationalising concepts and theory on the battlefield. Bringing together experts and stakeholders from across the UK and Allied governments, armed forces, defence primes, subject matter experts and academic institutions, the event will address both the strategic dilemmas and the practical realities shaping military technology today. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how to manage the trade-offs inherent in implementing technology strategies and how to build agile yet accountable systems that meet the demands of modern conflict.
