Overview

The UK PONI Annual Conference 2025 brings together the next generation of nuclear professionals alongside established voices from across the sector to explore the most pressing issues shaping the nuclear landscape today. Through a combination of expert-led panel discussions, keynote addresses, and networking opportunities, the conference fosters informed and inclusive dialogue across academia, government, industry, the military, and the think tank community.

This year’s programme will feature presentations from emerging experts on the following key themes:

  • Nuclear deterrence in a shifting global landscape: new realities and evolving challenges.
  • The future of nuclear non-proliferation: navigating risks and opportunities.
  • Advancing nuclear energy: next-generation technologies and global ambitions.
  • The UK in the third nuclear age: navigating adversaries, allies, and strategic partnerships.

In addition to panel sessions, the conference will include high-level keynote speakers, a poster competition showcasing innovative research, and networking opportunities over lunch and a drinks reception.

UK PONI is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. We strongly encourage participation from women, individuals with disabilities, and members of underrepresented groups across the nuclear community.
