The opening addresses will present organised vehicle theft as a sophisticated, cross-border criminal enterprise, highlighting how UK theft rates have surged 75% over the past decade and examining links to wider serious and organised crime. This will set the stage for the day's discussions by outlining critical gaps in the current national response and calling for a more coherent, multilayered collaboration across policing, government, and industry.

In June 2025, Organised Crime and Policing at RUSI published its in-depth, independent analysis of vehicle theft in the UK. This presentation summarises the key findings and key takeaways to inform the day’s discussions.

In this exclusive one-on-one conversation with one of the UK’s most recognised talk radio voices, Nick Ferrari, Research Fellow Elijah Glantz will explore the impacts on everyday motorists and the role of vehicle theft in public perception of policing. Drawing from his own experience and that of his countless callers, Nick will share insight into where vehicle crime fits into the national conversation – and the public’s demand for more effective policing.

Policing has been clear – they cannot tackle organised vehicle theft alone. This panel will explore how law enforcement and private sector stakeholders can strengthen collaboration to disrupt organised vehicle theft networks, addressing barriers to information sharing, joint operational responses, and the role of industry innovation in supporting policing efforts.
