Overview
The UK faces a diverse and evolving landscape of national security issues, including shifting relations with allies, complex challenges from state adversaries and transnational threats such as terrorism, cyberattacks and organised crime. Against this backdrop, the UK is also grappling with the impact of global economic uncertainty, climate change and exponential technological advances, which create new vulnerabilities and require a more integrated and resilient approach to national security.
Sir Simon will discuss how the UK is responding to these challenges and will offer his personal reflections on the outcomes of the new UK National Security Strategy, set to be published before the NATO summit on 24 June, outlining how the UK government and society will respond to changing and complex threats.
