The International Churchill Society
RUSI and the International Churchill Society (ICS) have established a fruitful partnership benefitting the members of both organisations.
ICS members have the opportunity to attend events hosted at RUSI’s headquarters building at 61 Whitehall in the coming years, while members of both organisations will be invited to a variety of meetings, conferences and other engaging events.
RUSI is grateful to ICS UK and ICS USA and their generous donors for supporting the Institute. In recognition of their philanthropy, the second floor of RUSI’s building has been named in honour of Sir Winston Churchill and The International Churchill Society. Read more information about the ICS and to learn more about their important work.
National Army Museum
RUSI and the National Army Museum have developed a long-running partnership through our shared interest in military history. A large proportion of RUSI's museum collection was rehoused at the National Army Museum in 1962 when the RUSI Museum was sadly closed. In 2023 we launched the annual Siborne lecture exploring the history and culture of the Napoleonic Wars. RUSI and the National Army Museum now take it in turns to host the annual lecture to which our respective members are invited.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission
RUSI has a long-standing relationship with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. We were honoured to receive the donation from the CWGC of a crest stone memorial, commemorating the sacrifices of Commonwealth soldiers, that we incorporated into our reception desk as part of our refurbishment of 61 Whitehall. In commemoration of Remembrance Day we partner with the Commowealth War Graves Commission on a half day event focusing on the role of commemoration in society and participate in the wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph.
